Sagittarius Blue Moon

Tonight, the Full Moon rises in the sign of Sagittarius, illuminating the sky with a bright & adventurous spirit. The Full Moon is always a time of revelation. It shines a light into places we may have overlooked & invites us to see with greater clarity. Under its glow, hidden truths often rise to the surface, asking to be acknowledged & honored.

Sagittarius is represented by the archer, one who aims their arrow toward a distant horizon. This is a sign that seeks wisdom beyond what is immediately visible. It is connected to the journey of learning, spiritual understanding, vision, & faith. While some signs teach us how to root ourselves, Sagittarius reminds us to look up, to dream, & to remember that life is a pilgrimage.

We are reminded that every human being is carrying an inner arrow. We all have a direction that our spirit longs to travel. Yet in the busyness of life, we sometimes lose sight of where that arrow is pointing. We become distracted by fear, uncertainty, or the expectations of others.

This Moon asks us to pause & remember.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius invites us to step beyond the limits we have placed upon ourselves. It asks us to trust the voice of Spirit & to remember that growth often begins when we are willing to venture beyond familiar territory.

The Rarity of a Blue Moon

This Full Moon also happens to be a Blue Moon, a rare occurrence when two Full Moons fall within the same calendar month. The first Full Moon graced us at the beginning of the month, now on the final day of May, another rises to illuminate the night sky. Because of this rarity, the Blue Moon has long symbolized moments of completion, destiny, & unexpected opportunity.

Despite its name, a Blue Moon does not appear blue. Its medicine comes from its uncommon nature. It reminds us that life occasionally offers sacred moments that ask us to pay closer attention, moments that do not come around often & therefore should not be taken for granted.

In many ways, this Blue Moon feels like a spiritual pause between chapters. It invites us to reflect on all that has unfolded throughout this season & to recognize how much we have grown, even when that growth has happened quietly beneath the surface. There is wisdom available under this moonlight for those willing to slow down & listen.

When a Blue Moon appears, I often think of the teachings of timing. Not everything blooms when we want it to. Not every prayer is answered immediately. Yet there are moments when the Universe aligns in a way that allows us to see the larger picture. This Moon reminds us that divine timing is always at work, even when we cannot see it.

The rarity of this moon is a reminder that your life itself is sacred & rare. Do not wait for the perfect moment to follow your heart. The medicine of Sagittarius teaches us that sometimes the path reveals itself only after we begin walking.

The Sacred Journey of the Seeker

In many Indigenous traditions, life is understood as a journey of learning & remembering. We are not here simply to accumulate possessions or accomplishments. We are here to deepen our relationship with Creator, with Mother Earth, with one another, & with our own spirit.

Sagittarius carries this medicine. Its energy encourages us to become seekers of wisdom. Not wisdom found only in books or teachings, but wisdom gained through experience. The wisdom that comes from sitting quietly with the trees. The wisdom that comes from listening to elders. The wisdom that comes through hardship, healing, & prayer.

Sometimes we believe we need to know every step before we begin. Yet Spirit rarely reveals the entire path at once. More often, we are shown the next step & invited to trust.

This Full Moon reminds us that faith is not certainty. Faith is taking the step anyway.

Illumination & Release

Every Full Moon brings an opportunity for release.

As this Sagittarius Moon shines brightly overhead, ask yourself:

• Where have I been limiting my vision?

• What beliefs no longer support my growth?

• What fears are preventing me from trusting my path?

• What stories about myself am I ready to release?

Just as an archer cannot send an arrow forward while holding tightly to it, we too must release what weighs us down if we wish to move toward our highest vision.

Perhaps it is self-doubt, disappointment, or the belief that it is too late to begin again. The Moon reminds us that every cycle contains the possibility of renewal.

You are never too old to learn.You are never too late to heal.You are never too far from Spirit to begin again.

The Fire of Sagittarius

Sagittarius is a fire sign, & fire is a sacred teacher. Fire transforms, illuminates, & purifies.

This Moon may stir a desire within you to speak your truth more boldly, pursue a long-held dream, or step into a new chapter of life. You may feel called to expand beyond old limitations & embrace a broader vision for your future.

Pay attention to what inspires you during this time, the conversations that awaken your spirit, &  the opportunities that seem to arrive unexpectedly. Often, Spirit speaks through inspiration before it speaks through certainty.

The fire of Sagittarius asks us not to remain small. It reminds us that our gifts were given for a reason & that our wisdom is meant to be shared.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius reminds us that wisdom is not found at the end of the journey … it is gathered with every step, every lesson, every prayer, & every moment we choose to remain open to learning.

Do not be afraid if the road ahead is unclear. The ancestors did not always travel with a map; they traveled with faith. They trusted the stars, the seasons, the signs of nature, & the guidance of Spirit. We are being asked to do the same.
