The Energy of Mother

On this day that many call Mother’s Day, I invite you to go beyond the surface of celebration & into the deeper remembrance of what it truly means to be a mother.

To be a mother is not only to give birth to a child. To be a mother is to carry life; in your body, in your heart, in your prayers, & in your actions.

The Mother is an energy, a sacred force, a living presence within all of Creation. She is the one who nourishes, the one who listens, the one who holds, even when she herself feels unseen.

This is the essence of the Divine Feminine.

In our traditions, we understand that the Earth herself is our first mother - Mother Earth, who feeds us, who teaches us, who mirrors our own cycles of growth, death, & rebirth. Every seed she holds, every river she carries, every mountain she raises is an expression of her endless love & patience.

So, when we honor mothers, we are not only honoring the women who have raised us. We are honoring the great web of life that exists all around us.

We must honor…

  • Grandmothers who carry ancient wisdom in their bones

  • Women who nurture children, communities, & traditions

  • Aunts, sisters, & caretakers

  • Those who mother through teaching, healing, guiding, & protecting

  • Even those who are learning to mother themselves

Because this too is sacred work.

Many of us carry wounds around the idea of mothering. Some have lost mothers. Some have strained relationships. Some long to be mothers. Some have chosen different paths. But it is important to remember, the spirit of the Mother lives within you regardless of your story.

This sacred energy lives on …

When you offer kindness to yourself,

When you protect your energy,

When you pray for the well-being of others,

When you create, tend, nurture, & love,

You are embodying the Divine Feminine.

Today is a day to honor all of these expressions! Take a moment to place your hands over your heart, feel the rhythm of life within you.

Give thanks to the one who gave you life, in whatever way that truth lives for you.

Give thanks to Mother Earth, who continues to hold us all.

& Give thanks to yourself, for the ways you continue to show up with love, even when it is not easy.

May we remember that we are all connected through this sacred thread of presence, devotion, & the quiet strength to keep loving.

~ Blessings!
