August Full Moon

Tonight is the August Full Moon, also known as the Sturgeon Moon. It is called the Sturgeon Moon because the giant sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this part of summer. With this Sturgeon Moon, we round out a series of four supermoons that began in May. Typically, supermoons occur when the Moon is at its closest to Earth at the time of its fullness. Supermoons appear to be even larger and brighter than an average full Moon from Earth's perspective since the Moon's orbit is not a perfect circle. This full moon is in the air sign aquarius. We have created a sacred ritual for you to perform for this special occasion.

Journaling has many benefits for the mind and body. You may find it helpful to write down your feelings or answer your own questions. If you wish to manifest things in your life or have goals you would like to achieve, this is the perfect time to write them down. Some people feel unfocused or unsettled during this time of the month, so brainstorming or journaling can help you focus on what you want and what you want to let go of. Perhaps you need to let go of a habit, something negative clouding your space, or a situation.

We have created some journaling prompts for you to manifest tonight:

  • What is something you hope to receive from the energy of the Full Moon?

  • What are the parts of yourself you tend to hide from the outside world and how can you express yourself better?

  • What positive qualities about myself or my life do I possess?

  • What are some negatives I can let go of?

  • In what ways does the Universe speak to me?

  • What do I love most about myself and my life right now?

Happy Sturgeon Moon! Love, Light, & Blessings!
