About This Moon

This Full Moon is known as the Beaver Moon, & it is also the largest & brightest full moon of the year. Like the beaver, this lunar event calls us to prepare, release, & ground. Beavers, the wise builders of the natural world, teach us the art of sacred preparation — to gather what nourishes & release what no longer serves before the cold of winter sets in.

The Beaver Moon derives its name from the practices of Indigenous peoples in North America. November marked the time to set beaver traps before the waters froze, ensuring a supply of warm furs for the winter. Spiritually, the beaver is a symbol of resourcefulness, industriousness, & collaboration. These qualities resonate with the energy of this Full Moon, reminding us to prepare & plan wisely for the season ahead.

The Beaver Moon often marks a period of transition. It’s a time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished throughout the year & to ensure that we’re ready for the coming season of introspection & rest. Consider what needs to be strengthened or repaired, & use this powerful lunar energy to solidify your path forward. It’s a time to honor your efforts & prepare for the quiet, reflective winter months.

We are encouraged to …

  • Release Old Patterns: As the year wanes, this is a powerful time to let go of habits, fears, or emotions that no longer serve your highest good.

  • Build & Prepare: Like the beaver meticulously constructing its lodge, this Moon inspires us to lay the groundwork for our future goals & dreams.

  • Embrace Inner Stillness: With the chill of winter approaching, it’s a time to retreat inward, reflect on the year’s journey, & cultivate inner peace.

The Beaver Moon is a Supermoon, meaning the Moon is physically closer to Earth — & therefore, emotionally closer to our hearts. Feelings intensify. Truths surface. The veil between what we want & what we need grows thin. Expect both beauty & depth, as Taurus grounds Scorpio’s intensity & Scorpio awakens Taurus’s resistance to change.

The Influence of Taurus

This Moon’s light pours through the earthy sign of Taurus, ruled by Venus, the goddess of beauty, comfort, & sensual stability. Under her influence, we crave peace, touch, & tangible reminders of love. But this Supermoon also amplifies emotion. Its closeness to Earth magnifies whatever has been hiding in the corners of our hearts. The tides of feeling swell, the memories rise, & clarity comes like silver light through the clouds.

Taurus teaches us about stability, nourishment, & self-worth. It asks us to slow down & honor the sacredness of our physical lives — the food that sustains us, the touch of the Earth beneath our feet, the stillness that allows us to feel gratitude for all that has been given. This Full Moon reminds us that true spiritual work does not live only in the heavens; it also lives in the soil, in the seeds, in the everyday acts of love & care.

If you have been walking through change or challenge, this is a time to pause & reflect. Ask yourself: What in my life is asking to be tended? What brings me peace? What feels in alignment with my soul’s purpose? This Full Moon is a teacher of patience & embodiment, it reminds us that creation takes time, & that what is built with love endures.

As we look upon this glowing moon, let us offer prayers for healing & harmony, not only for ourselves but for the Earth & all her children. Taurus teaches us that abundance is a shared blessing; it multiplies when we give, when we plant, when we live with an open heart.

Full Moon Prayer

Grandmother Moon,

On this night of brilliance & stillness,

Illuminate the path before me & the truth within me.

Help me release what burdens my soul,

& gather what sustains my spirit through the coming cold.

Teach me the patience of the beaver,

The grace of the deer,

& the steadfast strength of the Earth beneath my feet.

May this light bless my home,

My family, my dreams, & my heart.

I walk in beauty,

I walk in peace,

I walk in rhythm with the Moon.

Aho. So it is.

Words of Wisdom for this Moon

  • Spend time in nature. Sit with a tree, touch the soil, or walk under the moonlight. Let the Earth hold you.

  • Practice gratitude for the simple things: a warm meal, a kind word, the breath that sustains you.

  • Release the need for control. Trust that what is meant for you will grow in its own season.

  • Offer your prayers for peace & unity. The light you send out becomes medicine for the world.

The Beaver Supermoon reminds us that the act of tending, clearing, or even crying is sacred work. As you stand beneath this glowing giant, remember — release is not loss; it’s making room for peace.

You are the keeper of your dam, the builder of your world, & the weaver of your next dream. Let this moonlight wash away what’s heavy, & let the warmth of Taurus guide you home to yourself.

May this Full Moon in Taurus remind you of the beauty that is already within & around you. May you walk gently upon the Earth, rooted in love, shining like the Moon herself — radiant, steady, & full of grace.

~ Blessings!
